Message from the President

We hope this finds you enjoying your summer. It’s been a warm one and a wet one at times; but, as my Dad says, “at least we don’t have to shovel rain.”

Your Chicago Chapter officers have been hard at work this summer trying to set up a great 2010-2011 for you. You should have all received your membership directory. We will be trying to send that out each summer. And attached is your summer edition of the ASPE Chicago newsletter. And this one is basically an “All Things ASPE” issue. We talk about lots of things that ASPE offers its members. Some of you may not know of all this. And maybe some folks who are not members will see what we have to offer and will want to join our fine chapter! The majority of the newsletter is filled with general ASPE articles. But more importantly, you will see our tentative meeting schedule on the cover and a request – if you would like to be a presenter for one of the topics shown OR if you have a presentation you would like to see OR if you have ideas of restaurants/banquet halls that you think would be good locations for our meetings, PLEASE contact our Vice President Membership Frank Sanchez at 847.316.9204 or fxs@grummanbutkus.com. He will be grateful for any input you have.

And with that, on to the newsletter. Please give it a read. If you have friends or coworkers who might be interested in what is inside, please pass it on to them! We have included a membership application to share with those people as well. Remember – if you recruit a new member, as soon as he/she becomes a member, BOTH of you get a free dinner at one of our monthly meetings!!

Thanks a lot and enjoy the rest of your summer!
